The purity of the fruit expression here is arresting as sweet pear, melon and fine sweet persimmon flavours drench the palate. This is both enveloping and uplifting as a sense of noble purpose and life prevents it from any sense of being cloying. Enjoy on its own, or bring forth the morels and cream, the roast pork, the foie gras - for this is a wine that demands a certain grandeur on the plate.
