Griotte Chambertin

Griotte Chambertin lies just below the famous Clos de Bèze and Chambertin vineyards, and covers barely 2.7 hectares of north-east facing slopes. This lack of morning sunshine leads to a cooler micro-climate, allowing for a gentle ripening of Pinot Noir with more delicate, expressive and nuanced wines as a result. Joseph Drouhin´s holdings here are particularly known for their soaring aromatics, fine tannins and elegant texture on the palate. This delicacy in a region known predominantly for structured, muscular wines is a key reason why the wines of Griotte Chambertin are so highly sought after.
