Specifications

Colour:

Red

Producer:

Penfolds

Region:

Australia

Appellation:

Barossa Valley

Grape Type:

Syrah/Shiraz

Grange , 2013

Tasting Note:

96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Magill Estate. Ripe, glossy, liquorice and dark fruit with soy and balsamic notes, black figs and olive stones. Deep, impressive and needing time, a hint of volatility, with kirsch and pastille at this early juncture. A bigger proposition than the 2012 with large-framed muscular tannins, the result of lower yields and a shorter growing season. Densely packed but mighty impressive. Matured for 20 months in 100% new American oak.
