Tasting Note:

Carillon d'Angelus 2022 was a bit of an eye opener for us. Stephanie de Bouard-Rivoal and her father, Hubert have raised the bar in Dick Fosbury fashion. The fruit hails from the Bouard family's share of Bellevue, a site to the west of the commune near Figeac and a limestone vineyard in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. Whatever they've done has worked. Opening with clear raspberry and fresh plums, there's a seamless delivery of fruit; pure, refined and intense - lots of detail and wonderful texture. There's a delicacy to the fruit too, highlighted by the well-judged tannins and the mouth-watering saline finish. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
