Tasting Note:

This is the first release of the new second wine of Belair Monange, the J P Moueix estate that comprises the old Chateau Belair and Chateau Magdelaine. The vineyards are ideally situated on the plateau above Belair and Ausone, neighbouring Chateau Canon and the south facing slopes below Belair. It is regarded as one of the greatest terroirs in Bordeaux and now in the capable hands of the Moueix family, the vineyards are really beginning to show their full potential. The Annonce is brimming with Morello cherry, raspberry liqueur and cranberries, with aromas of cedar and tobacco. It really doesn’t feel like a second wine, such is its generosity, grip and persistence, coupled with the quality of tannins. It is already quite charming to drink now. Drink now -2025+.
