Tasting Note:

The charismatic Bruno Borie described 2018 as 'bouleversant'. This is a typically romantic French word that has no direct translation into English. It means that feeling when one is stopped in the street by the beauty of a stranger - drop dead gorgeous if you like. We would happily walk straight past the Croix de Beaucaillou, in fact we'd probably give it a wide berth. Weighing in at 15% alcohol, this is all spicy, exotic incense, nori, black cherry and brambles. Sumptuous and concentrated, full of inky dark fruit, prunes and Valrhona chocolate. It is so concentrated and rich it wouldn't be out of place in Napa bar the tannic profile. Luxury texture, but it finishes with molasses and prunes and rather dry tannins.
