Château Grand Village, Blanc, 2021

Tasting Note:

The first time this has been fermented and aged in a dedicated white wine cellar and the first time it has been aged in barrels only. The Guinaudeau family confidently, but justifiably, affirm this to be “the most serious Grand Villages Blanc we have made.” A real firecracker, aromatic and fresh citrus fruit complimented by touches of brioche on the nose. The palate has plenty of thrust and spark, offering flavours of white grapefruit and salted citrus rind with a touch of ripe gooseberry. Tense and captivating. Racy without being austere, there is genuine fruit ripeness and intensity here. Bravo! A blend of 73% Sauvignon picked on the 9, 11 and 13 September, and 27% Semillon picked on the 7th September.
