Tasting Note:

Under the stewardship of Charles Chevalier, Carruades has become one of the consistent and exciting second wines of Bordeaux. It is amongst the most open wines of the northern Médoc in 2003, with immediate soft cassis fruit on the nose and truffle/mineral complexity. There is fresh acidity, tarry/toasty fruit and excellent blackcurrant and damson expands on the palate. There is good weight in the middle palate, nicely rounded tannins, and a classy, balanced finish.
