Château L'Evangile

Grape Blend:

Merlot | Cab. Franc

Château L'Evangile, Pomerol, 2013

Tasting Note:

The Domaines Baron de Rothschild team continue to impress with their work at Evangile. This is one of the more profound efforts from 2013. Produced from 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, the team seem to have extracted more colour and extract and have retained a silkiness and balance in the wine. Pure crème de mûre, cassis, crushed rocks, roses, fine herbs and sweet strawberry jam explode from the glass. The attack is juicy and packed with loganberry fruit. The tannins are big and robust, but ripe. The finish is mineral, fresh, grainy, with hints of liquorice and boysenberry fruit. Very good.
