Tasting Note:

41% of the vintage went into the Grand Vin, a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. Similar ruby colour to Pavillon Rouge, with purple rim, but not quite so dark. Pronounced yet feminine nose, powerful but restrained. Delicious aroma of groseilles confites with a hint of Victoria sponge and cream. Very clean and fresh on the palate, medium weight, excellent structure with elegant tannins – smooth on the surface with firmness beneath. Very ripe fruit, wonderfully rounded texture, very long, fine and classic. Unwaiveringly elegant.
