Plenty of tannins that close in on the finish and suggest a long life ahead. Good quality, classic young Margaux. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Marquis de Terme features notes of red and black currant preserves, boysenberries, and Indian spices with touches of dried lavender and black olives. Medium-bodied, the palate is firm and chewy with a good amount of expressive black fruits and a spicy kick to the finish.

The 2019 Marquis de Terme was the best vintage that I had tasted in a number of years - this showing suggests that it has improved even further in the last 12 months. It has a clean and precise bouquet with perfumed blackberry, bilberry and crushed stone aromas, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, finely-sculpted tannins, very fresh and vibrant with real precision and tension on the finish. Classy. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
