Tasting Note:

Moulin St Georges occupies a great position just to the south east of St Emilion town on clay and limestone soils. The father and daughter team of Alain and Pauline Vauthier at neighbouring Chateau Ausone, tend the vines. Produced from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, there is a wild and exotic bouquet of damsons, cherries, hedgerow fruit, fresh herbs and wild flowers. The fruit is quite strict and focussed with notes of summer pudding and hints of rhubarb. This is restrained and vital - it could use a little more generosity. If it fills out during élevage it should provide good mid-term drinking.
