Château Mouton Rothschild, 1er Cru Classé, Pauillac, 2004

Tasting Note:

A blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, the first vintage made by the new winemaker from Branaire-Ducru. Very dark with a bright ruby rim; initially closed on the nose, but loaded with elegant cassis fruit on the palate. Plenty of secondary fruit here, soft and almost peachy, with a good deal of power and weight behind, held in reserve. Tannins are very smooth and rounded, and the finish is deep, long and seductive. Very good.
