Tasted at Lèoville-Lascases where it showed remarkable quality in the company of two St Juliens. 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 42% Merlot with élevage in 15% new barrels. Dark saturated bright purple colour, classic forceful blackcurrant and wild plum aromas. Masses of ripe blackcurrant with hints of cedar and tobacco leaf - very pure and concentrated. Fine tannins and length of flavour. Top notch 2002.
