Tasting Note:

John Kolasa has done a wonderful job at this esteemed second growth. In this byzantine commune where some estates are having an identity crisis, Rauzan along with the eponymous Chateau over the road have remained true to the classical style of Margaux, that is to say, elegance, finesse, florality and clear Cabernet flavours. We tasted the 2014 twice with almost identical notes. Gloriously restrained Cabernet notes of violets, cassis and minerals. The palate is creamy and silky with pure flavours of crème de mûre, plum and flowers. There is considerable density here, with long, suave, sexy, textured fruit and a beautiful vein of acidity that refreshes the palate.
