Tasting Note:

Henri Martin’s 4th Growth St Julien estate, Saint Pierre is a bit on an enigma to us. Often it is overshadowed by its sister property, Chateau Gloria, and this is yet again the case based on our UGC samples. Produced from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, it feels more classical than normal, with its pure, brooding, savoury, dark fruit nose. Impressively dark and powerful, but it fails to display much nuance. One is left with a general feeling of density. Virile, but without the length or the refinement of the best St Juliens.
