Tasting Note:

From very first impressions, one is aware that this is a profound Petrus. As ever, extractions were gentle and have harnessed a purity and precision which is most impressive. Initially reserved, even a touch introverted, it requires a little coaxing. With aeration, subtle aromas of iris, pure raspberry and delicate hedgerow fruits emerge. The fruit is fragrant and pure, with an ethereal quality that teases the palate. So layered and textural, the multifaceted mid-palate keeps revealing new details. Although there is the unmistakable power and density of the vintage, the tannins and structure are silky and refined giving an impression of balance, harmony and precision. It keeps flourishing, displaying it's regal, aromatic character and extraordinarily refined and nuanced tannins. A mesmerising Petrus with power and charm in equal measure.
