Burgundy 2014 En Primeur

14 January 2016 - Pernand Vergelesses Sous Fretille 1er Cru Remi Rollin, 2014

From three parcels within this fine, south-facing vineyard, perched at the top of a small hill adjacent to Corton. A great wine from a value white appellation. Previous vintages have been chassagne and puligny premiers crus in blind tastings.

14 January 2016 - Nuits St Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru Henri Gouges, 2014

One of the great vineyards of Nuits, it does not always get the plaudits of its renowned neighbour, Les St Georges, but can often be as good. The Gouges old vines parcels in Vaucrains always produce very small berries, making for a very powerful, intense wines.

14 January 2016 - Vosne-Romanee, Champs Perdrix, Bruno Clair, 2014

A very fine high Vosne villages vineyard situated next to Reignots 1er Cru a touch higher up the slope, this also includes a small proportion of Petit Monts 1er Cru as Bruno's parcel is too small for it to be vinified on its own.

14 January 2016 - Nuits St Georges Vieilles Vignes, Perrot Minot, 2014

A ridiculously good value wine. Such is Christophe's perfectionism that he would rather produce an outstanding villages, than a merely very good 1er Cru. This villages is purely made from 1er Cru fruit, the majority of it being Richemone (80%) the balance made up of Cras and Murgers.

14 January 2016 - Bourgogne Terroir d’Exception, Chateau de Meursault, 2014

From a plot of 40 year old vines between Albert Grivault's Clos des Perrieres and Perrieres itself. A premier cru site if ever you saw one but at half the price.
