Puligny Montrachet, Les Folatières, 1er Cru, 2015

Tasting Note:

A wonderful version of Folatières that is ever so slightly more pliable than usual without losing its habitual crunch and tension. Like crushed rocks draped in a silk cloak, the flavours are at once suave, yet gripping. Together with the juicy citrus and orchard fruit there is also a smooth, polished stone quality. Mineral and tense yet with some curves. Strikingly beautiful. One of the top vineyards in Puligny next to Caillerets, from a high up parcel where the soil is particularly poor and stony, but well exposed to the sun. From a particularly well situated parcel in the northernmost corner of this great vineyard, right next to the Leflaive vines.
