Tasting Note:

Clearly a wine of excellent raw material There is strong minerality, a gentle buttery core and wonderfully fresh citrus fruit. This is more coiled and backward than usual but you do get the sense of style and class that you so often find in the Bonneau du Martray wines. Very impressive. The blend comprises three equally-sized blocks: Haut Rollin at the top of the hill facing west in ‘En Charlemagne’ where the soil is poor and the wine mineral Grande Plante which is south/south-west facing mid slope in ‘Le Charlemagne’, this is the heart of the blend and Les Latours which is the bottom of Le Charlemagne facing south which adds flesh and density.
