Corton Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2018

Tasting Note:

Fleshy but quite taciturn at first. Beneath the well-padded greengage, Mirabelle fruit lies a deep minerality. Full-bodied and multi-layered with
a dense buttery texture. Complex and sophisticated. The blend comprises three equally-sized blocks: Haut Rollin at the top of the hill facing west in "En Charlemagne" where the soil is poor and the wine mineral; Grande Plante which is south and south-west facing, mid-slope in "Le Charlemagne", this is the heart of the blend; and Les Latours which is the bottom of Le Charlemagne facing south which adds flesh and density. Aged in a third new oak.
