Tasting Note:

A different shape and stature to the Clos St Jacques, which is all airiness and electricity, whilst this offers huge presence and breadth.
Characterised by a fine, persistent, caressing power, a real Burgundian vinous aristocrat. Silken damson, cherry and hedgerow berry fruit expand steadily throughout the palate. Towering but measured strength and with great brightness and clarity of flavour. Two thirds of this plot were planted in 1912 and the remainder in 1972. The parcel extends upwards on the slope. The upper part, poorer and stony, gives an aromatic wine of great finesse whereas the lower part, richer and clayey brings power and richness.
