Gevrey Chambertin, Les Cazetiers, 1er Cru, 2015

Tasting Note:

An engaging, seductive and pure Gevrey, all charm and brightness. Both sensual and vital at the same time, impeccably balanced. This boasts flavours of red cherry and red berry with a welcome, rather indulgent but not too decadent hint of cherry confit. A first rate Gevrey 1er Cru vineyard high up on the slope next door to Clos St.-Jacques, whilst there is a similar aromatic quality to the wines of its neighbour the taste profile is very different, with suaver, rounder fruit coming through thanks both to the plant itself, a different type of Pinot ‘massale’ selection, and the white clay soils found here in this limestone-influenced parcel in the upper-part of the vineyard.
