Tasting Note:

A different kettle of fish to the Meursaults, being less immediate and forceful. As the estate’s oldest vines, this is unsurprisingly its most intense wine. Expansive and slow-building, this does not show its hand straightaway. It is very much fruit-driven, compared to the mineral Perrieres, but it is fruit of great complexity and raciness. Notes of mandarin, mirabelle and clementine gradually reveal themselves with just a hint of smoke and pain d'épices. Deep but vital and focused, a rapier like freshness cutting through the sensual fruit. A Puligny of mind-boggling depth and balance. From a 0.5 hectare parcel of old vines next door to Meursault Perrières.
