Aromatic, open knit and wild, sweet berry fruits, a confit note, some griotte and kirsch wrapped in a big tannic structure. Hints of small berry and cassis. So intensely concentrated that it is a little austere for now, as Vaucrains can often be in its youth. One of the great vineyards of Nuits, the Gouges old vines parcels in Vaucrains always produce very small berries, making for a very powerful, intense wine. The vineyard is
influenced by its red stony clay soils and the cooling effect of the forest.
