From an east facing parcel above Ladoix this is a different beast from the Cotes de Nuits wines, cool dark wild and almost aloof fruit flavours with some dark mineral notes and a brooding smoke and bramble character finish. Muscular and firm. Will require patience. A 2.8 hectare monopole of Domaine Faiveley high up on the east facing side of the hill.
