Tasting Note:

A wine that gets ever finer with each passing year, without ever losing its ‘Nuits’ identity. Perfumed red fruit, finely-scented notes of fresh-cut flower and cherry blossom, with mineral-inflected dark berry and cherry fruit with sweet spice notes on the long, clear finish. The beautifully pure, bright fruit is wrapped in suave, unobtrusive but binding tannins. A wine of beauty and toned power. At 9ha it is the largest monopole in the Côte d’Or. Based in the Premeaux Prissey commune, where the wines are very structured, Clos de La Maréchale is built for ageing. Freddy Mugnier’s skill has been in taming the naturally tannic character of the wines without supressing any vineyard expression.
