Bâtard-Montrachet, Grand Cru, 2015

Tasting Note:

As ever, rather brooding and tactiturn in its youth, broad-shouldered and powerful notes of butter, roasted nut, stone fruit, citrus and acacia. This is just the half of it, deep powerful and layered, this will need time to break out of its shell. A vineyard plot in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet planted on brown limestone and clay soils with some broken stones in the upper part of the vineyard. A gentle slope results in good drainage. The exposure to the sun is an ideal south to south-east.
