Tasting Note:

Quite a serious nose, offering up lots of high-quality oak, citrus and smoke. Ex Meursault barrels make up 1/3 of the élévage. There’s a really smart wine here. Rich confit citrus fruit with smoke and butter, leaning towards white pears and greengage on the finish. Texture, tension and complexity. Dominique used to age this for an extra six months in cuve compared to the other wines but found this tightened the wine too much. It is now aged a year in fut and two months in cuve. A fabulous single vineyard plot in Vergisson. Fuller and more mineral than the Viré-Clessé. Stony and nutty with a fleshy golden fruit character. Complex with a tense citrusy finish. Powerful but lively and sophisticated.
