Marquis d'Angerville

Grape Variety:

Pinot Noir

Volnay, Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, 2018

Tasting Note:

A warmer more sensual feel to this than the snappier, crunchier Fremiets. This is all about wood spice, liqueur fruit and minerals. Slick and smooth, the rich dark fruit glides gently across the palate. Polished sweet bramble and crème de mûre flavours with an oak and sweet spice. Situated on the south side of the village, Cailleret's steep, well exposed slope and poor, stony soil make it one of the finest Crus in the commune. Part of the blend is from vines planted in 1990, another part is from 50-year-old vines bought by Guillaume in 2013.
