Tasting Note:

Intense, full, mineral Volnay. Sturdy and robust but toned and refined with it- there is a touch of the richness and sweet Griotte fruit of the Clos des Angles, but with an added darker more brambly note, hemmed in by fresh savoury touches of flint and mineral. A clay dominated vineyard on the north side of the village, further up the hill from Clos des Angles, and so the soil is less deep here – the resulting wine is more strucutured and mineral.
