Michel Prunier

Auxey-Duresses is a small village west of Meursault on the way to St Romain and the Hautes Côtes. Michel Prunier manipulates Auxey’s top Pinot Noir vineyard, the Clos du Val, which is a south-facing Premier Cru planted on the slopes of La Montagne du Bourdon. The appellation produces very good red wines that combine fruit flavours with a spicy complexity and this is probably where Auxey excels. Moreover, Michel’s boundaries are not confined to Auxey as he owns some more old vines in the Beaune Sizies, 1er Cru and the revered Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, vineyard of Volnay. Michel’s vast experience ensures that these two vineyards regularly produce wines of exceptional quality
