Tasting Note:

The soils are deeper here than in Christophe’s parcel of neighbouring Charmes, giving a wine of more stature and presence. Bold, broad and voluptuous, earthy sweet hedgerow fruit with iron and mineral notes. Like a very good Clos Vougeot in style, deep, mouth-filling, rich and plump but even-keeled. A parcel of 60-year-old vines from the prime “Haut” part of the Mazoyeres vineyard opposite Combottes and Latricières-Chambertin, close to Chrisophe’s Charmes but so different in profile with much deeper soils.
