If there is a textbook version of Nuits or at least what people imagine to be Nuits, this must surely be it. Fleshy and broad-shouldered.
Ripe red cherry and red berry fruit that coats the mouth yet as broad as this is, there is a great sense of energy, too. The flavours are intense and muscled but vivid and alive, a twist of stony minerality helping prolong the finish. One of Nuits’ unsung heroes, Les Pruliers is well situated with a gentle slope and a good mix of clay and stones, consistently producing very complete, structured, mineral wine in the typical Nuits mould.
