Vosne Romanée, Aux Malconsorts, 1er Cru, 2017

Tasting Note:

Loads of drive and complexity but a distinct finesse at the same time. Very accomplished and complete. A wonderfully strong limestone
minerality runs through the dark berry, hedgerow, black cherry, raspberry undergrowth and stone characteristics. Lively and vivid but deep. A top class Malconsort. From well drained rocky, clay and sand-based soils in the high part of Malconsorts. Less compact and less clay based soils than Suchots so not as round but with more structure and minerals. One of the top Vosne Premier Cru vineyards situated next door to the Boudots of Nuits-St.-Georges, making wines that show a similar power but with a silky Vosne refinement. The vines are 45 years-old.
