Corton, Grand Cru, 2021

Tasting Note:

The very low yields mean that the Tollots have produced a single Corton cuvée this year,  a blend of 3/4 Corton and 1/4 Bressandes. Just 30% of a normal crop. The Corton parcel is south facing on iron rich soils, producing a wine of power and shoulders, while Bressandes tends to yield more refined wines of great finesse. There's striking depth to this but also a sense of lift and life – complex, savoury nuances alongside fine, sweet fruit that commands the mid-palate. Most striking is the sense of momentum, the driving energy of this that stains the palate while the next wine is poured. A Corton of real dimension and persistence.
