Tasting Note:

A superb dry farmed site from high up on Moon Mountain where Massimo is lucky enough to work with a small plot of 50 year old vines. The famed Montecillo site sits at 1800 ft and the mountain Cabernet here is much prized by the likes of Dumol, Arnot-Roberts and Turley. In the hands of Massimo, the results are extraordinary. Incredibly aromatic, with floral black tea, ripe dark plums and even a note of balsam on the nose. On the palate Massimo’s signature freshness and structure allow airy mountain berry notes to coexist alongside sage, earth fine stones and rocky minerality. There’s a high toned, ethereal quality to this lovely cuvee, which expertly demonstrates why Mountain Cabernet is one of California’s unique gifts to the world. Just 6 barrels produced.
