Tasting Note:

Initially smelling like aromatic stones, dried rose petals, Szechuan peppercorns and tiny black berry fruit, this soon opens to reveal a note of sweet earth, black plum and blood orange. On the palate, dark fruits meet powerfully aromatic notes of dried flowers, mountain herbs, wild rose, smoke and liquorice. This comes from a block of vines planted in 1967, on the iron rich soils of a famed vineyard high up on Moon Mountain - and it tastes like it comes from another planet. Wonderfully complex, nuanced Cabernet fruit, dark and virile, powerful but in no way blocky - the sheer layers of flavour and tension make this hugely compelling. Exotically different - a wonderful wine.
