Tasting Note:

A totally seductive Bearwallow that features an intensely cherry dominated nose accented with floral notes, and then the suggestion of fractured rocks. This is charming, and deeply welcoming already yet never loses sight of its sense of proportion and freshness. Rich and concentrated by Rhys standards, which is still extremely nimble and nuanced in general Californian Pinot terms, Bearwallow Pinot is a fluid, sensual wine that coats the palate with sleek cherry fruit and melting, succulent tannins. Beautifully balanced - awash with mid-palate flesh, sweet black and red fruits but also a finishing note of sweet soil and black tea. Super seductive already, but all the components are there to see this drink well for another 5-10 years. This is the one wine in today’s offer not from the Santa Cruz Mountains, comes from one of the great Anderson Valley vineyards, right in the heart of the "deep end" of the valley. The wines from this Northern Rhys outpost are less ethereal and mountainous, with deeper fruit profiles and a tell-tale finishing sting of intense minerality.
