Tasting Note:

Francis Egly’s dedication to his Ambonnay Pinot Noir vines results in Champagne’s most lauded red wine. Sadly production is severely limited. Very old vines planted to ‘Pinot Fin’, meticulously tended, harvested ripe and then given elevage of 22 months in oak barrels deep in Francis’ cold cellars. Nothing is filtered and bottling is carried out by hand. The 2017 is a wine of concentrated small berries – yet also, owing to selection, of tiny yields.
