Tasting Note:

Clos des Goisses 2008 is a wine of startling clarity, precision and intensity; a diamond cut Champagne that looks set to go down in the history books as benchmark vintage for this stellar single vineyard. Unusually, the 2008 carries a very slight weighting to chardonnay, which plays out in its sheer initial elegance, before the pinot noir element takes over, giving a grip and intensity that drives this through to a very long finish. The 100m deep hard belemnite chalk of the Goisses hillside lends this it's signature energy, as citrus zest, white flower and salt notes give way to white pepper, Sicilian lemon and hard chalk; layer upon layer of high definition flavour offering a mere glimpse of what is surely to come in this incredible, but youthful champagne. The final blend is 55% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, with a dosage of 4.5g, disgorged April 2017.
