Ex-Chateau Lynch Bages 1996 Offer

A True Classic, Direct from the Chateau's Cellars.

It’s hard to think of another wine brand that is so universally well loved. We think of Lynch Bages as a quintessential English Claret, but the truth is, this Chateau enjoys a global demand, most recently finding favour in the not insignificant Chinese market.

Occupying the best sites on the Bages plateau, the vineyard holdings span roughly 100 hectares over deep gravel croups. In 2006 Jean-Charles Cazes became the Managing Direct and has continued to drive the Lynch Bages phenomena. One of the most notable changes implemented in the last decade has been the adoption of ‘selection massale’ from 50 year old plus vines, rather than the standard clonal approach to replanting. They believe that this will provide more diversity and help protect the vineyard’s identity.

Today, we are delighted to be able to offer an ex-Chateau parcel of the outstanding 1996 Lynch Bages. This is a sensational, classic Lynch Bages from one of the finest Left-Bank vintages of modern times. It is characterised by tell-tale Pauillac notes of cassis, graphite and flowers interspersed with notes of seaweed and iodine. It is at its sumptuous best right now, displaying a wonderful mouth-coating texture and an abundance of sweet primary fruit blended with mature secondary and tertiary notes. We envisage this developing and delivering exceptional drinking pleasure for at least another decade, if you can resist the temptation to drink it all immediately.

This is a very limited offer of perfect provenance stock.
