Château Beaumont

The long history of Château Beaumont dates back to the late 18th Centruy. After passing through the illustrious hands of various Lieutenant Colonels, Senators, and an ambitious industrialist, it eventually came to Bernard Soulas in the eighties who completely redeveloped the vineyard and Château. In 1986, it was acquired by the current owners, Société Grands Millésimes de France, who also preside over St Julien's Beychevelle. The vineyards are planted on deep gravelly soils in the Haut-Médoc between Margaux and St Julien. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines are characterised by their charm, silky texture and reliable, text-book Bordeaux flavours.

Spanning114 hectares, this renowned estate benefits from significant economies of scale, allowing it to offer exceptional quality at great value. The vineyards are planted on well-drained, deep gravelly soils, ideal for growing premium Bordeaux varieties. The typical blend showcases 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, with small additions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to add complexity and balance.

Since 2004, the estate has embraced sustainable viticulture, adhering to the environmentally-conscious principles of the Terra Vitis organisation. This commitment has dramatically reduced chemical use and ensured full traceability from vineyard to bottle.

In the winery, the wines are matured in oak barrels for up to 14 months, with approximately one-third new oak used in each vintage. The result is a well-balanced, refined claret, marked by supple tannins and rich cassis notes. Classic in style and exceptional in value, these wines are the perfect accompaniment to a Sunday roast. Particularly in standout vintages, they offer an irresistible opportunity for discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike.
