    The usual floral notes on the nose, coupled with lime marmalade and botrytised fruit; on the palate there is great freshness and elegance, and a long delicate finish. A decidedly terroir-based, feminine and seductive wine from Denis Dubourdieu, the leading white wine œnologist in Bordeaux.

    Great example of a successful 2021, with effortless concentration coupled with huge acidity and lift. Gunsmoke, tar and smoked almond aromatics that quickly give way to mandarin peel, marmalade, citrus and grated ginger. A painfully tiny 1.3hl/h yield, you have got to feel for the team involved in teasing success out of that challenge. Does mean of course that there will be tiny quantities available.

    Pale lemon-yellow in color, the 2021 Doisy Daene is a little closed to begin, offering notes of truffles and wild fungi over a core of apple tart, poached pears, and nutmeg, plus a waft of grapefruit oil. The palate delivers an electric line of freshness to counter the decadent sweetness, finishing long and earthy. Residual sugar around 130 g/l.

    The 2021 Doisy-Daëne has a complex bouquet with white peach, quince, honeysuckle and light resinous aromas that are all beautifully defined. The palate is very well-balanced with impressive depth. As I commented from barrel, whilst not the most complex Doisy-Daëne I have tasted, it has a purity that is entrancing.
