    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

A wine of proper Grand Cru stature and substance but floral and refined with it. Beautifully scented and detailed flavours of bramble, cherry, blueberry and violets with hidden rocky elements hidden beneath. Superb balance and, for wine of such depth and scale, remarkably alluring in its youth. Cecile has a mere 0.4ha of 50-year-old vines in Chapelle; a shame as hers is one of the finest examples of this lesser-known Grand Cru that you will find. Aged for 18 months in three quarters new oak barrels.

The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is exceedingly pure on the nose, offering black cherries, bergamot and touches of pomegranate and wonderful mineralité; it’s actually not unlike the Chapelle-Chambertin from Dugat in style. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannins. Not a voluptuous Chapelle-Chambertin, but full of nervosité, with a lightly spiced and very persistent finish. Superb.
