    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Denis Mortet, Gevrey Chambertin, Vieilles Vignes, 2011

More reserved than the Villages but this clearly has the extra richness that comes from older vines, profound bramble, crème de mûre, raspberry earth and spice character. Very impressive. Aged in 75% oak but you can not taste it. From vines averaging 50 years old.

Good bright, dark red. Red cherry, raspberry and sweet oak scents on the nose. Rich, sweet and pliant; a step up in creaminess and volume from the regular village offering. Lovely high-toned red fruit and floral flavors linger nicely on the broad, long finish, which features sweet, suave tannins. This was aged in 70% new oak but wears it lights.
