    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Génot Boulanger, Meursault, Les Boucheres, 1er Cru, 2019

A very youthful but relatively discrete nose belies the intensity and texture that awaits on the palate. Unctuous acacia honey, fruit skin and citrus zest notes grounded by an underlying earthiness giving complexity and balance to the ripe flavours. Powerful but well-framed and controlled. Long, concentrated and complex but not at all burdensome. The richness and unctuosity is kept at bay by cool, fresh fruits. There is style and nuance to this intense, rich-textured Meursault. A classic.

The 2022 Meursault Les Bouchères 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet, opening swirl-by-swirl with lanolin, hazelnut and faint touches of crushed stone. The palate is a little reductive on the entry, but there is fine tension throughout, with praline and toasted walnut notes towards the finish. It may lack some depth overall, though that would have upset the balance.
