Tasting Note:

Very classy with a stony, low key nose dominated by the highly mineral smell of rain on slate, dotted with bright notes of lime and crisp, barely ripe peach. Sleek and supple in texture, this shows great composure as it glides across the palate. There's not a hair out of place as notes of fine green apple, citrus and herb tinged fruit appear alongside tarragon and sorrel, over complex slate. Not the most showy or explosive, but a real sense of class and composure. Excellent. Along with Hipping, Pettenthal is one of the core vineyards of the Roter Hang, composed of iron rich slate and some clay.
