    In monastic times the wine from the sheer blue slate Abtsberg (Abbott's hill) vineyard was reserved exclusively for the Abbotts. In 2012 it is the most overtly slatey and mineral of the wines to this point yet retains a juicy character that seems to define the 2012s from this estate. Precise and fresh, green apple, yellow plum and bright herb flavours alongside a lovely mineral component.
