Tasting Note:

Delicate, stony, chalky, sunshine bright aromatics on the nose, a yellow tone to the flavours, which is then replicated and joined by white fruits on the palate. The soils here are limestone and they give a fine boned breadth to the wine, a delicate creaminess and a tell-tale note of gentle smoke. Spend a little time with this and white pear and white flowers emerge, alongside a strong saline streak. 15-20% of this is now fermented in Amphora, to help lessen any reduction in the final wine, something Pinot Blanc is prone to. With age, this wine is one of Germany's great unsung heroes.
